Emo hairstyles are usually black with random splurges of bright coloured highlights, (blonde streaks at the front).
However, a large majority of people with Emo hairstyles do tend to favor black hair dye.

Although there is a large variation in how one can wear an Emo hairstyle, there do seem to be some common factors.

Often an Emo hairstyle is the result of a person playing around and experimenting.

The "shag" cut, lots of layers with the "emo sweep" at the front, long, side "peak-a-boo" finge, so only one eye is visible for most parts.

Emo haircuts are high-maintainence.
It often takes hours to get that "just rolled out of bed" look.

There are really no rules with an Emo hairstyle other than having fun, playing around, getting creative and being as individual as possible!
