Winter 2008 Medium Long Hairstyles

New Medium Long Hairstyle Ideas for Winter '07/'08

A new season, new trends and - of course - new hairstyles!
Medium hairstyles offer comfortable hair length that is not too long and not too short.
From letting it flow down, bunning it up, to curling up the ends, mid-length hairstyles offer a variety of beautiful hairdos.

If you're looking to try a new haircut, (or to go a bit shorter) the bob is (still!) a hot hairstyle. Even those who choose to keep their waves and curls will opt for more controlled and cleanly-defined tresses.

Look for the bob style to make a bit of a "comeback" this Winter season (even though it never really went away).

Mid-length Bob
The classic bob will return with inverted lines, volumized crowns, and textures throughout the interior that will give the cut movement.
You can create new looks with texturizing your bangs, maybe you want them straight across, or side sweeping them. You can also play up the style with layers to make other areas of your face either stand out, or minimize them.
Many of the previous bob hair cuts were flat in the crown.
You will notice that the nape area is not tapered so much that it appears thin, but is left heavy and soft.

Vintage Fever
Retro curls are big news. Curl locks into a '20s flapper bob or a '40s-inspired, Hollywood starlet style - or, sexy and voluptuous, Marilyn Monroe '50s inspired distinctive curls.
Keep looking to the '20s and '40s to add a twist to keep your look fresh and funky.

Bed Head
Let the rebel inside you come out with a punky, young cut.
This is a great style for thinner face shapes. The hair has been shoulder length and the ends have been styled thick and heavy with lots of body.

Medium Shag
Sleek, multi-layer cut very adorable and sexy mid-length hairstyle with defined ends with split front bangs marginally covering the face.
Pump up damp roots with a volumizer take the sides and blow-dry them while tousling. Finish by kicking the ends out with your fingers.

Choppy and Defined
It is easy to see how defined the layers are as sections seem to be more visible. The front bangs covering the forehead allow for many different facial shapes to achieve the look well. The longer strands complete the look with a nice finishing touch.

Multi-layer Cut
This simple multi-layer cut uses the bangs to slightly enhance the facial features. The crown of the hair is still the focus, thus the lack of curls or extra waviness.
The ends are left choppy but frame the face well. A very easy look that many women will find a good change.
